I almost canceled my Netflix account over Silverlight.
After making the mistake of saying yes - I was unable to view any videos on my T1 connection.
Had no problems prior and could even leave a movie paused overnight.
I love netflix on my lunch break.
It almost seemed that once silverlight was installed they were shaping the bandwidth which was magically better after I complained a couple of times.
Seems like the lower my connection speed the better continuity I have with viewing (traveling with a wireless card from Verizon gives me better viewing than 1.5 down...)

One thing they have done that is better is you can now view NF in Firefox - cool if I could actually view it.

The windows Media player was practically DVD quality, while the Silverlight player is as bad as YouTube, with visible artifacts and quantization. Maybe for people watching on a computer screen, it's not so obvious, but on a big-screen TV, this Silverlight crap (and the fact that they refuse to let me switch back) is making me consider leaving Netflix. I don't care if it's easier to rewind and fast forward, when the whole thing looks like ass. I tried the silverlight player at work, thinking it would just be that machine with the new player, but it's set in my account so my two silverlight-less computers at home can't use the old player, either. Terrible policy decision by Netflix - they should be adding quality not taking it away from us.

Silverlight is terrible. It times out and audio and visual doesn't always stay in synch. It really is a trully INFERIOR product.

I've complained to Netflix many times and they don't seem to care.

Will I stay with Netflix? That remains to be seen.
