DAB sounds totally rubbish
My Boyf's DAB radio hums so badly all the time that we never bother listening to it and just use the analogue one.
My Mum & Dad's DAB radio is better, but it keeps on losing signal if you stand in just the wrong place in the kitchen.

Plus, how annoying is it that "the pips" are late on DAB. Useless.

Also, the replacement costs of the 14 analogue radios we have in our ordinary semi and three cars will be astronomical financially and environmentally - since 3 of them are already over 20 years old and still going strong, I don't hold out much hope for "natural replacement".

DAB is rubbish, we need something that sounds better. FM outperforms DAB is every respect at the Bit-rates used by broadcasters. 256 k/bs should be used for DAB, but 112 - 128k/bs is what is generally used. Stick to FM and install an FM in your loft if reception is not free of hiss and distortion on your in room aerial - will then outperform DAB.
